The court has extended the arrest of former Interior Minister of Tymoshenko’s government (2005, 2007-2010) Yuri Lutsenko for another 2 months until April. He is incriminated abuse of power. The opposition believes this is political repression.
The suspects in the bombing in Makiivka have been arrested. Two blasts occurred in Makiivka on Jan. 20 outside the largest coal company’s office and shopping mall. Investigators have advanced various versions, including political ones.
Circus of the city of Simferopol (Crimea) in full force joined the Regions Party. This party is the core of the parliamentary majority. The members of this party are the President, prime minister, as well as a significant number of ministers and governors.

- Alexander Matyushenko’s article "If necessary, we will drop a bomb" on the Russian-Ukrainian dispute over the border in the Azov and Black Seas, where oil and gas deposits were found;
- Vitaly Portnikov’s column on the main issue in Egypt now is the question of keeping the power by the military.
